Meet Elizabeth

Elizabeth Turner Haase, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice in the Washington, D.C., metro area. In addition to her general psychology practice, Dr. Haase has specialized for over forty years in the areas of death, dying and bereavement, illness, loss and trauma.

SIMG_4323he has trained mental health professionals, ministers, hospital caregivers, doctors, nurses and chaplains locally and nationally in these areas of expertise.

Over many years, Dr. Haase has counseled and taught from a holistic perspective helping clients and trainees to focus on their strengths in the healing process. She believes in the interconnection between psychological, physical, spiritual and emotional needs and encourages the development of self-care for clients and trainees alike.

Washingtonian Magazine has twice selected her among the top psychotherapists in the Washington Metropolitan Area and included her in its list of Grief Counselors, one of the few Ph.D. psychologists designated. Following 9/11, Washingtonian identified Dr. Haase as one of the top Grief and Trauma Counselors.

Dr. Haase trained as a Gestalt therapist and hypnotherapist as well as a life coach.

She has been a Fellow in Thanatology and a Diplomate in Hypnotherapy for many years. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, The Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis, and the Virginia Academy of Clinical Psychologists.

She serves on the clinical advisory board of GirlThrive, a New York-based organization supporting young female sexual abuse survivors.
